Does this seem like a marker for Autism or ADHD.

Walking around like this, with your arms upto your chest, elbows out and thumbs tucked into fists.

For comfort.

Apologies for the drawing.

Also sleeping like this at night.

Or needing something to hold like a pillow or large stuffed toy?

Also having something heavy on your face brings you comfort.

Sensory processing disorder? Needing proprioceptive input? It can go along with other forms of neurodiversity.

SuperGreens · 27/03/2024 19:45

Yes, look up neurodiversity and dinosaur hands

ADHDm · 27/03/2024 19:59

I'm autistic, I've got pictures of me with 't-rex' arms throughout childhood and beyond. I sometimes swivel my hands when I'm sitting and not realise. Oh, and I'm very 'elbowy' / chicken wings when I run.

I'm an adult (40) and I do this.

I also cannot stand still. I have to sway side to side.

I've been thinking alot about all the different things I have going on that seem like I could be on the spectrum and wondered if this was connected

My DS2 does this all the time, he also tucks his fists down into the neck of his T shirts (which ruins them). He's autistic and very dyspraxic and lots of sensory processing issues. He's also an adult and has done this all his life!

My son is autistic and dyspraxia also and tucks his hands under his armpits, at night he sleeps rolled in a duvet like a burrito! Som who has adhd has a weighted blanket.
