Niche question - A Level English 1990

So....

I did A Level English in 1990. Recently applied for my certificates as I have lost them. AQA have my other two A Levels but not English. I would have sworn blind I did AEB which merged with AQA but apparently not. My school closed and was knocked down so no chance of finding out from there. Therefore, I turn to MN!

My set texts were Othello, As I Lay Dying, Comedians and The Wife of Bath's Tale. We also did The Prelude and King Lear. What board might it possibly have been?

I did two of those texts a couple of years after you. I want to say we did the Southern board but would need to dig out my certs to check, as Cambridge is also ringing bells.

Could it be NEAB? Or Cambridge.

Would the LEA have a record of the exam board?

Southern also became part of AQA so I think they would have found it

Could it have been AEB660? This involved 50% coursework and an extended essay.

The boards around at the time included JMB which then became NEAB which then merged with SEG to form AQA later in the 90s. There was also London, Cambridge and AEB.

Examination boards around then were NEAB (Northern Examination and Assessment Board), Southern Examining Group , University of London, Midland Examining Group, Oxford and Cambridge Examination and Assessment Council and the Associated Examining Board

Hope that helps
