It’s just me and DH (and baby on board).

We have no plans for the long weekend but would like plans! Appreciate we’ve left it quite late. I don’t want to just potter around home.

If you could do anything, what would you do?! Drinking / spas out the question obviously but any other suggestions would be great!

Any nice National Trust places near by, yes they will be busy but you can enjoy a walk and cup of tea or coffee with a slice of cake.

Vague location?

I'd be lunching, walking and doing adult things

Large shops will be closed on Sundays. Perhaps there is somewhere near you where you could enjoy some level of peace and quiet which is normally noisy.

Go for a swim.
Wander around until we found somewhere nice to eat out
Go and see a movie

Find an amazing park
Have a long gentle walk
Cafe with cake

Have a morning in bed with tea, TV, books
Cook a roast whilst playing chess or something with the radio on
Have a bath
Movie at home

Another swim
Left over roast to eat
Declutter, clear garden, go to the tip, go to DIY centre to buy paint
Have a foot mask, foot bath and home pedicure, read weekend papers, watch movie at home

Feeling more adventurous look at lastminute.com see if you can grab a bargain might be go where there is space but you never know

minipie · 27/03/2024 18:00

Do you want to go away or stay home?

What sort of activities are available near you - near me I’d do a cookery class or an immersive theatre thingy (if not booked solid) but don’t know if those are available?

Any gigs or comedy on perhaps?

If you are outdoorsy people: weather looks reasonable on Sat, go for a long walk to a nice pub (for a soft drink)

Stopmotion24 · 27/03/2024 18:04

Go for a nice walk or several to look at spring flowers, do you have a garden to work on planting new stuff? Visit friends or relatives, can you invite yourselves to stay over? Or if budget allows book a nice place to stay, go to the cinema/theatre, or just improvise which won’t be so easy to do when baby arrives. Maybe think of the things you enjoy doing that will become more difficult with baby and do them. A day trip to a nearby city/town, it’s hard to say without knowing what you like!

If it was me and had no budget constraints I’d either go to London or somewhere exciting or book a stay in a treehouse sort of place in a beautiful location

Topsy44 · 27/03/2024 18:50

I would do the following:
Fri - National Trust property
Sat - trip to the Coast
Sun - nice Sunday roast at home or country pub followed by movie afternoon scoffing chocolate eggs
Mon - walk in the woods in the morning and then home for a picky lunch followed up by reading papers/book or some good telly and of course more chocolate eggs!!

Sunshineandpinkclouds · 27/03/2024 19:07

Enjoy lots of lie-ins for a start as obvs that is going to change soon!

Depending on where you live - cinema, fish and chips at the seaside, walk and pub lunch in the countryside, coffee and cake and mooch around the shops (John Lewis and look at baby stuff?)

Or last minute overnight trip Sun - Mon somewhere nice where the rates will be more reasonable than the rest of the Easter weekend.
