Breaded cod to be precise. Use by date was yesterday.
Eat or bin?
I hate food waste and am kicking myself

I am very lax about dates (other than with chicken), so I'd be tempted to eat it.

Masaladosai · 27/03/2024 16:19

Me too usually, not sure when it comes to fish though

I’d eat it too.

MaggieFS · 27/03/2024 16:20

I'd eat it

TheTwirlyPoos · 27/03/2024 16:21

Wouldn't hesitate to eat it after a day. Three I'd chuck.

ReachedTheEndofCake · 27/03/2024 16:21

Also very lax about food dates - I’d trust my nose

Mapleunicorn · 27/03/2024 16:21

I would bin it. Recently gave myself food poisoning by eating a seabass filet that was one day out of date. Not an experience I would want to repeat!

Brightshoe · 27/03/2024 16:22

I'd eat that, probably not prawns, but even then for one day if they smelt Ok...No-one's expecting anything to turn on the stroke of midnight, there must be some slack built into the dates.

Fourfurrymonsters · 27/03/2024 16:23

Trust your nose. This is what we had to do pre-sell by or best-before dates 🙌

PurplePanda1 · 27/03/2024 16:24

I would bin it.

Jovehansson · 27/03/2024 16:25

I would eat it

joysofdarlings · 27/03/2024 16:25

I wouldn't feed it to the dc but unless you're pregnant I'd say it is probably fine.

totallybonkerswarning · 27/03/2024 16:27

Yes, it became dangerous to eat at 1 minute past midnight lol

It's fine.

Peppermint81 · 27/03/2024 16:28

Some things I would eat out of date but fish is not one of them

Ohhhhh, and I've just said it's fine but, I'll be more careful from now.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 27/03/2024 16:29

I'd smell it and if I didn't faint I'd cook and eat it

SinnerBoy · 27/03/2024 16:30

Have a smell of it and if it's unpleasant, bin it. I'm assuming it's been refrigerated the whole time? If it smells OK, it'll be fine.

colourblindrainbow · 27/03/2024 16:31

I’d eat it unless it smelt bad or looked bad.

Botanica · 27/03/2024 16:32

I'd have no hesitation in eating unless it actually smells off

That sounds grim, but surely it would have smelt bad. That is usually a good indication not to eat it.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 27/03/2024 16:35

Assuming it's been in a fridge and not left out on a radiator I would eat it.

coxesorangepippin · 27/03/2024 16:35

Bin

Not worth it

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 27/03/2024 16:36

Another vote for eat.

Saintmariesleuth · 27/03/2024 16:41

Eat it unless it looks or smells off
