Term time only funded hours

My childminder tells me the government are now insisting the funded hours are applied only in term time, rather than averaged over the year. Is this the case?

As a childminder I did term time only . The amount big paperwork to claim the hours was so much hassle . I couldn’t bear the thought of more .

i am no longer a childminder but haven’t heard anything

No official change; BUT providers are allowed to apply any business model that works for them.

A friend of mine is spreading hers out over the year, so would appear not? We're term time only so can't answer from experience.

I know that's not true in England but maybe it is in other parts of the UK or perhaps she misunderstood or wants to do it that way and is telling a white lie to parents

As others have said shes entitled to do that

I was looking into childcare last week and a childminder local to me said the LA has emailed her to say from summer 2024 they can't stretch the funding anymore.
