What can you put in a wallet gift, that's not money?

I have bought a friend a wallet for her birthday. I know she'll like it, It's embellished with a charm that reflects a hobby she's passionate about.

I know the tradition is you put money in a wallet or purse but I don't want to do this. Friend is not money-minded at all, lives a very simple life and is very happy with that, and I feel money is just not very personable either? She'd not want me to put a lot of money in, she'd not like that at all and putting £20 in seems just crass!

I've thought about a voucher but that's basically the same thing Grin, she's quite crafty so maybe some pretty card or something like that? Does anyone have a better imagination than me?

You need to at least put a 50p coin in it, the superstition is so she’ll always have money. Same with money boxes, you have to put a coin in them before you give them away!

I would say a coin from the year she was born, even if a penny - in addition to something else mentioned by PPs..

I’d love a coffee shop voucher.

I am not sure about coffee shop things as she lives out in the sticks! But they're a good idea for future. Thank you for the suggestions!
