50+ sports car = middlife crisis?

And does it matter?

I mentioned to a couple of friends yesterday vthat I've been dithering over buying a little convertible. Nothing expensive and I'll probably keep my sensible car for times when you need a sensible car.

They both found it most amusing and were laughing at my midlife crisis.

Is that what everyone's going to think and doss it matter if they do?

FWIW, DH died, my DC became adults and I turned 50, all in the same year. So if anyone's entitled to a midlife crisis, I am 😆

Go for it! I got an (old) Porsche Cayenne S when I was 53, 4.5l V8 engine. Vroom-vroom!!

Fucking loved that car, even though I had to refuel it every 50 metres. Had to sell it during the pandemic as I couldn't eat it. 😢

Keep you flexible getting in and out of it, it's practically necessary for your health.

The bad news is yes a lot of people will think that.

The good news is that by 50 you won't give a shit what other people think, and they are probably just jealous they can't afford the same anyway.

Buy what pleases you, with your money and other people can buy whatever stuff they want with theirs.
