One bed, two duvets?

Does anyone do this? We have a superking bed and I am not sure if we should do two single duvets or two double duvets.

Super king bed and 2 single duvets for the last 15 years, it's fab.

Super king bed with two single duvets. I think doubles would be too big and warm for us. The singles cover the whole bed side by side so yes we just make it like that when we get up. Absolutely love it and would never go back to a shared duvet.

We have a double bed I think.
I sleep like a sausage roll with a double, he has a single.
I love it. Also because I need duvet between my knees and with this set up can face either way.

DH uses a double. I use a single. It’s just down to personal preference. Our duvets are radically different in thickness and material as well. Cover the whole thing up with a nice blanket when you want to make the bed and no one knows.

Yes - started using two singles when we lived in Germany as its normal there, with the big 80cm square pillows. We don’t use the pillows any more but we kept the separate duvets. DH likes a single and I have a double because I don’t like draughts.

We sleep in a single bed each, pushed together.

I have a king sized duvet to wrap around me. (Because we had it before we swapped to single beds.)

DH has a double duvet. But when it's cold we wrapped the duvets around both of us to make a sort of huge bedding nest.

Amazing.

But honestly for us, two separate beds was the game changer. We both have medical problems and need to sleep in different positions. A double was quite awkward.

In a single each, we can sleep together but comfortably without disturbing the other person.

I can definitely see the appeal of separate duvets but don’t you ever want to touch your spouse in the night? It’s not like DH and I spend the whole night spooning but sometimes one of us wakes up a bit and rolls over against the other one and it feels nice, especially if I’m feeling a bit stressed or anxious. We also cuddle in the morning between the first alarm and the second snooze alarm. Sometimes our day to day lives are so busy that we don’t get much time alone together but at least we have the overnights, even if we’re mostly asleep. I worry we would lose that if we had separate duvets. On the other hand, if I have to spend one more night fighting that bastard for my fair share of duvet warmth I will murder him in cold blood without a shred of regret. So there’s that.

Loads of answers. Thank you. DH I think will be ok with a single. I think I might prefer a double. May buy cheap ones to start off with and then invest when we are happy with duvet size.
