To give my kids their evening meal early

I have 2 kids and my eldest is 6. When she comes in from school she's hungry, she snacks then doesn't eat her tea at 5 when we normally have it. I'm thinking of maybe doing tea for 3.30 when she comes in and then I don't mind her snacking afterwards as at least she's eaten her tea. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if it works

I think this is fine if it works for you. My DC are at nursery where they have tea between 3:30-4pm. They will then have toast, cereal etc around 6pm before bed.

We do early dinners op, it works for our family.

You could give her a more structured snack at 15.30 rather than general snacking.

Our DS is 6.
Most days we do tea at 16.00. He can then snack on whatever after that and supper at 18.45.

Works perfectly for us.

One day, we do it straight from school, so 15.30 - then out the door at 16.30 - snacks on our travels after that.
