Holiday for 8 adults. Can’t agree on villa v all inc

8 of us hoping to go away next summer. 4 want all inclusive hotel and the other 4 want a villa.

How do we reach a compromise?

are there any resorts that have both? Not fussy about where … Greece, Spain, Portugal etc.

How about the 4 that want the villa make all the beds, clean the bathrooms, do all the shopping/cooking/entertainment ?

alphabettispagetti · 23/03/2024 07:49

Well what are the reasons for wanting it?

FrenchandSaunders · 23/03/2024 07:54

The 4 who want all inclusive just want a complete chill where everything is taken care of.

The other 4 want the privacy of a villa and eating out, or bbqs and also want to be able to swim at night.

With all inc we will still eat out and explore, won’t be stuck in hotel for the whole week.

Absolutely agree @DustyLee123 about cooking, shopping, washing up etc.

4 are all mid 50s, the other 4 are early 20s for info. I’m sure you can guess who wants what!

Some AI's have pools where you can swim in the evening or private pools for the room.

Wouldn't fix the privacy issue.

Maybe something like this:

justresorts.co.uk/presidential-villa

Orchidflower1 · 23/03/2024 08:01

Honestly, I would just book two different holidays! Nobody will be entirely happy.

I am guessing maybe it’s a family group?

what about a mini break somewhere all together and then separate big holidays?

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 23/03/2024 08:02

Go away in 2 groups on 2 holidays. Problem solved

Sani Club in Halkidiki has villa type rooms but it's an all inclusive resort

sunnylanding · 23/03/2024 08:04

Can't you get villas that are cleaned/serviced daily? I've never had one but I'm thinking there must be a market for it!

I'm not a fan of all inclusive tbh, have done them when the kids were young just for convenience but not something I'd choose as an adult. You don't get the peace and privacy you get with a villa. However I understand some people just want to flop and not have to make their own bed or breakfast!

Sani isn't all inclusive (and the drinks are very expensive) but Ikos is. Again, they have private villa rooms with pools. Very ££££ though.

Is this a mothers & daughters holiday? If so & mums are subsiding daughters then mums get the final say.

If daughters are able to pay their own way, then they can rent a villa on their own & meet up as & when.

frozendaisy · 23/03/2024 08:30

Why not look at an apartment in a hotel complex?

So you can have you own group gathering once or twice, not tied into all inclusive so can eat elsewhere without paying twice.

And have access to pools etc.

Would also depend where, if the villa meant a trek to anything then you are reliant on transport whereas a hotel might be more central.

EndlesslyDistracted · 23/03/2024 08:37

i think a villa on a hotel complex sounds like the best bet, I would much prefer the villa set-up myself, I like going food shopping and BBQing etc and having a private lounge area not just a hotel room and balcony but its nice to have the bars and restaurants on hand as well. The cleaning etc really is no bother.

defendher · 23/03/2024 09:35

Ok Sani isn't all inclusive.

Ikos is a bit 'love island'

BingBoings · 23/03/2024 09:53

We have booked a fully catered villa this summer for a group of adults and kids.

I think we get breakfast every day and dinner we could pick how many nights. Chef and waitress to serve and tidy up.

It has worked out at about £1,000 per person Inc the food. I think we have to buy booze on top.

So probably cheaper than a posh all-inclusive. House looks incredible with pool, large gardens etc

We didn’t want to have to cook and wash up, but also didn’t fancy a hotel as young kids.

Roselilly36 · 23/03/2024 17:25

IKOS is amazing, we stayed in Oct last year and go again in a few weeks, unrivalled, I would ignore the Love Island comment, we are early 50’s! 😂 it’s nothing like it, mainly young families, older couples, honeymooners etc.
