Recently decided to try a healthier diet and for the last month I’ve been starving so often. I’m having pretty much the same things alternate days (in a bit of a fussy eater) my ‘menu’ is as follows

Breakfast : 2 poached eggs a mashed avocado on 2 slices of brown toast , cup of coffee OR Greek yogurt (the regular size pot that comes in a pack of 4) with a banana and nuts and some honey and a cup of tea

Lunch is always the same , a plain chicken breast, salad and a bowl of soup , a pot of Greek yogurt and berries

Dinner is either 2 salmon fillets , potatoes, broccoli, spinach and chickpeas or 2 chicken breasts , pasta , fried courgette and paprika with butter .

In the evening I have a cup of tea and a biscuit

I used to snack more but I still think I’m eating enough but I’m so hungry all the time and my stomach makes terrible noises which can be so loud it’s embarrassing??? Am I doing something wrong I wanted to feel healthier I feel so hungry and almost unwell from it ??

Do you drink enough water

Maybe not I tend to have water just with a meal except my tea in the evening perhaps I should up my intake

Definitely up the water intake. You’ll feel much better.

I would say I eat less than that but don’t usually feel really hungry. For breakfast I have porridge with lots of added seeds, nuts, berries and an egg. My lunch would be like yours but no soup or yoghurt ( so salad and chicken or cheese). Dinner i would just have the one chicken breast or salmon fillet. I drink a lot of liquids though (maimly
herbal tea).
I think maybe it’s a period of adjustment rather than not eating enough.

Yeah you need more water. The difference is probably not feeling bloated rather than actual hunger

I was so used to snacking on chocolate and biscuits I think ? Maybe just going a few hours between meals is just making me feel hunger that I didn’t get previously due to so many snacks

Yes you might be dehydrated or not be getting enough sleep. Avoid drinking lots half an hour either side of eating though as it dilutes your digestive enzymes.

If the above doesn't work try not eating until mid morning / intermittent fasting to regulate appetite. It works!

I think the trouble with questions like these is that they demand a lot more information, which you might not want to share, eg- are you a band 5 nurse/ landscape gardener/ desk based? Breastfeeding? Training for a marathon? 6 foot 2? Do you mean potatoes or one small one chopped? On the face of it, it sounds sustaining and healthy, and you could try eg having more courgettes and chickpeas, and making sure your lunch soup has pulses and maybe some grain ( eg barley or orzo pasta) but it’s a bit of a stab in the dark. If it helps, years ago when I basically gave up sugar ( I don’t even like biscuits, don’t know why I ate them) felt a bit weird for about a month, but fine after that.
