Another Mirena coil one

I had a Mirena coil put in a month ago. For the first few days, I had some light bleeding - which I’d expected. Then (I think) my period started, and it went on, and on, and on. For three effing weeks.
Now I’m back to light bleeding again.
Is this normal?

I bled lightly for 11 months.
I then had it removed. I hated the whole experience. Didn't realise how shite I felt until I had it out.

I think everyone reacts differently. I have had a really positive experience. Very light bleeding the day of having it implanted and then no bleeding whatsoever since and that’s nearly 5 years now. Don’t feel any adverse affects emotionally or have any symptoms either.

Sorry to hear you’re not getting on with it!

I had 18 months of random spotting and light periods after getting mine fitted in 2020. I did get checked out because it really triggered my health anxiety so I had swabs and scans/a smear etc and all was fine. Then randomly I got my regular cycle back (longish light periods though, I was never lucky enough to have them stop completely like some women do)

I’m not actually sure whether I’m getting on with it or not. If this is normal, then I’ll just suck it up and wait for it to settle. If not, I might ask for it to be removed. My periods have always been pretty trouble-free, and it would be very annoying if it were all to go tits-up at the age of 52!
