What gifts do I take to Australia from UK?

So we're travelling over to see in laws in a few weeks and I'm completely stumped what to take as little gifts.

Obviously they have most things there and I'm not needing to take "marmite" or "tea" as they're Australian not British ex pats... So needs to be more presenty than that.

They have easter eggs (this would have been an easy win if it had been america!) and lindt and Cadbury etc.

Any ideas what might be a nice gift? We don't go over often at all.

Yes but I've never eaten anything from fortnums or been there so would be a weird thing for me personally to take! I get it would be a nice thing though 😊.

Yes I don't mind vegemite but prefer marmite. They're quite different really.

And Tim tams aren't that exciting as they're just penguins. But I do rather like bbq shapes and forager fruits :)

When I've tried both Vegemite and Tim Tams - I was very nice but had to be polite about them because although they were similar I obviously preferred what I knew, the British ones.

For me it would be things they like but can't get/expensive to get in Australia.

Depending on your budget maybe Fortnums things but just as nice some really nice English chocolates/chocolate. Or tea towels.

Of course Tim Tams are better than Penguins! Can't do a Tim Tam slam with a penguin, I tried, it just disintegrates....

And the double chocolate Tim Tams... drool. But then the whole Arnott's range is brilliant and you lot don't know what you're missing out on. I suggest stopping at the supermarket and trying - Mint Slices, Gaieties, wagon wheel, Kingston. You'll thank me later.... 😬.

Tim Tam slam - bite off both ends of the biscuit, use the biscuit like a straw to suck up your tea/coffee. As soon as you feel the tea/coffee reach your mouth you throw the soggy, gooey, delicious mess into your mouth.

Only to be done in the presence of true friends who will join you.

Penguins fall apart before the tea/coffee reaches your mouth.

My German friends like M&S crisps shaped like pasta. But it's a difficult thing to transport without getting squashed, and I also don't know if they would be allowed under the strict Australian laws.

When we visited friends in Australia we took shower gels and Lego for their son. Not because you can't get Lego in Australia but because we couldn't think of anything better at the time.

You could take a Christmas Tree decoration. A relative of mine collects them from places she has visited, or gets them as presents. But I guess it's not the right time of year unless you happen to have a Christmas shop near you!
