Do you ever look at your old house on RightMove?

Do you ever check to see if it’s being sold?

My last property the buyers sold it within a year and it was sad to look all the changes they’d made. Obviously it’s their property and they can do what they like with it.

Or are you not attached at all and couldn’t care less?

I looked up my (deceased) parents old house when that was on RM. Although it was my childhood home, I didn't feel much other than interest seeing it.

I also look up friends houses on zoopla to see how much they paid for them! 👃

Also google searched my grandtold house as I remember it as huge and it's an ordinary size house (I was very little when they died)

I don’t see what there is to be sad about.

For me personally I feel sad as my parents could no longer afford our home due to bad health. I would seriously consider buying it one day if it ever came up for sale although it would cost over 3 times what my parents sold it for.

Yes and wow they have done some strange things. Moved the bathroom downstairs. But left the toilet. So you have a small bedroom/office with the toilet in it( has a door) just odd

Yes, and this thread has prompted me to look up another house from my youth. I'm always shocked at how modern they look. I have more of an arty, cottagey style, so I always flinch a bit to see these big box extensions, big boxy furniture, kitchens on steroids, and the house cleared of personal possessions for the photos. It's not really a sentimental thing, just mild aesthetic shock (and confusion at the layout). It's actually quite interesting to realise that the same old room that you couldn't have imagined differently... Could indeed be imagined differently!

No I haven’t but we sold our last house to a minor celeb and it was in Hello magazine 6 months later after she did an ‘architect-lead’ renovation. We did have a laugh at that because it was basically just a new kitchen. My nan was impressed though because she was a Hello subscriber at the time!

Well see I have this thing where I understand not everyone is the same and there will be things in the world that make other sad but not me. Maybe try it.

So why so snarky then?

No, but I do look at them on Streetview sometimes. My previous house has changed a lot and it does feel a bit odd - not sure why :/

The people I sold my last house use it as a holiday home & Air BnB so I look at it all the time! They bought some furniture of us and apart from doing the garden (which now looks amazing to be fair) it’s the exact same. All the reviews compliment the decor which makes me feel pretty smug, especially as I really struggle with things like that.
