One thing you've bought or done that has made you look and/or feel better

Is there anything you did or bought that improved how you look and/or feel?

I've just turned 36, I'm a single parent to two boys, i work and trying to renovate the house ive just bought, all of which leaves me feeling constantly overwhelmed followed by lots of falling asleep on the sofa. I used to be fairly okay to look, now I'm frumpy, I have lines, my skin is dry no matter how much water I drink or moisturiser I use, my hair very thick but graying and a lot fell out last year which was the worst of our lives after spending time homeless.

I would love to start looking after myself, to start feeling even a little attractive, so would be so good to hear what has worked and helped others! Budget or more aspiring things welcome.

Another one here whose going to say strength/weights - has absolutely changed the way I feel about my body and how I look. Bought some dumbbells for cheap (people often sell them on fb marketplace) and followed some simple YouTube videos - bought bigger ones and sold the old when they were no longer challenging. I could bore you for ages on how it's changed how I feel about my body but I won't.

Other than that, drinking so much water. Soooo much water. I know you said you drank loads and it didn't make a difference but keep it up - it's easier to chug it in the mornings too!

Ooh and figuring out my colour season! I love black, but every time I wear one of my 'season' colours I get a compliment. There's lots of guides online.

For you, I'd say look up local colleges that do hair & beauty as they often do haircuts for cheap. And a tinted lip balm to bring a bit of colour to your face - see if you can steal a bit of time having a browse in boots. Elf do a lip stain that is very easy to use but there's plenty in the lip balm section.

But most important, bloody congratulate yourself for doing something amazing for you and your boys - you've worked your arse off in a way a lot of us will never even come close to, to end up in your own place after being homeless. Hope the renovations go smoothly, and that you've not got too much left to do.

I got a new washing machine and thought well its just me so got a tumble dryer as well every thing washed and dried in an hour or so.
Yoga gave up sugar and started to read more books.

Strength training again. Start off with a couple of light dumbbells and work up. Combined with healthy eating I lost over a stone and massively toned up with Charlotte Ord Back to Basics DVD

Lash extensions, acrylics, hair all done regularly (2-3 weeks), good skincare, a walk and fresh air everyday.

Anything that makes you feel happy will make you look happy, don't start strength training and 5ks if it makes you miserable!

Dehumidifier in the bedroom. Much better sleep.

Daily vitamin D. I've been taking it everyday all year round for about 4 years now after I felt so tired in the afternoons at work I could have fallen asleep on the toilet. I now rarely get colds which is an added bonus and I just feel tired at bedtime instead of by 3pm

I use a spray moisturiser as soon as I get out of the shower (while still wet), it takes a few seconds and really helps my skin.
