Uneven boobs… anyone else?

I’ve always had uneven boobs and I know it’s common but mine are really starting to get me down. My nipple line is v asymmetrical - the right nipple is 5.5cm lower than the left! I don’t know what difference in cup size that would equate to.

I’ve been thinking about corrective surgery as it makes me very self conscious. I’ve also discovered the evenly breast balance after doing some research.

Has anyone else had surgery? Or found a solution to their uneven boobs?

Yes. I have one much bigger than the other and feel like a freak. Also considering surgery. Keep thinking there must be something wrong, but I've had scans and mammograms in the past and they haven't found anything dodgy.

I have uneven boobs, but not as pronounced as yours. I don't like it, but for the most part I don't think about it as I'm dressed and it's not noticeable. But there was a photo when I was in the sea with a bunch of women recently and I thought it looked awful.

I think mine are that way as I always sleep on my right side and that boob has gotten squashed over the years.

If it's getting you down then maybe you should consider surgery. Perhaps arm/shoulder/chest exercises would help, too?

I wouldn't bother with surgery at my age, but I have recently tried to get into the habit of sleeping on my left side!

I have size asymmetry post pregnancy. Lost all tissue in one boob. Looks fine in a top, but really off in a bikini or anything plunge because the boobs are ‘hanging’ from different places.

After advice from a private midwife, I have given myself 3 years as hormones can rebalance and things can plump up.

Currently on year 2 out of 3.

if no change, my husband has promised to buy me a new pair 🤣

I have uneven boobs, I haven’t measured nipple difference but my left boob is definitely bigger than my right. I used to be really really self conscious about it but I’ve realised that most people have uneven boobs or boobs that are different cup sizes and with a bra on it isn’t really that noticeable. I’m not bothered by it and I think most people other than myself or someone really looking don’t notice it.

I had the same issue OP and not only were mine different sizes, they were different shapes!
Finally, 2 years ago bit the bullet and had corrective surgery carried out by a surgeon recommended by my GP.
I thought he could just sort out the bigger droopier one to match its smaller non-droopy neighbour, but no, he said it is far too difficult and he would need to operate on both.
I went ahead and am very pleased to report that my nipples are now in the same time zone. Breasts are smaller, rounder, higher and firmer. The vertical scars have still not totally faded but the ones underneath the breasts have.

Thank you for the replies! I do think I am going to research surgery more. Maybe I should speak to my GP to see what they think / check out the bigger boob.

I had slightly uneven beasts. I was only vaguely aware of it and it didn't bother me at all. My breasts were huge and I had a reduction.
Pre surgery, the surgeon commented that my right breast was larger and that, during the reduction, he would correct that.

Yeah, Right! The previously very slightly smaller left breast, after surgery was noticeably bigger than the right AND as my breasts have increased in size again (as apparently they often do) has become even more so. It's over a cup size bigger (and we are talking H oneside and J the other) and a totally different shape with the nipple having been placed in a different position too.

I was lucky enough to have this reduction on the NHS (double K and extremely droopy after very significant weight loss) in the early 2000s, so I still don't regret it BUT I'd be very wary of paying for correction as there can be no guarantees.

I've got the same sort of insert from a different company and they definitely work. Makes everything look a lot more even when wearing clothes. I'm going to order one of the covers from the company you have linked to, as the only problem I've found is that the silicone can split over time. So the cover will help.

MoonWoman69 · 15/03/2024 23:00

Mine have always been uneven, I'd say a cup size difference. I may not like it, but when I'm dressed, it's not noticeable. I've just learned to live with it.

AlpineMuesli · 15/03/2024 23:19

Corrected asymmetry (2 cup difference) as soon as I could afford. Have never regretted it.

Hi everyone. Bringing this thread to life again.

I’ve just come back from holiday, and looking at the pictures you can really see now the difference in size of my boobs. My mum said she noticed it too (not in a horrible way but for example when I don’t wear a bra under my PJ top, it’s really noticeable).

She thinks I should speak to the GP in the first instance as there could be something underlying going on. Did anyone do this?

Anyone?

I had a single mastectomy last year so I have a prosthesis. I see that there are LOADS of different kinds of prostheses, including ones made for women who have only had a partial mastectomy/lumpectomy, so they do have a boob - it just isn't the same as the other one.

I see you have already found at least one site which does similar. The 2 I know of which do post surgery prostheses for breast cancer patients have a fitting service as well, if that helps? They are Amoena and Nicola-Jane.

Notateacheranymore · 24/06/2024 13:54

Upon first revealing myself without clothes to my now husband (over 30 years ago) and then becoming more comfortable with each other as 18 year olds in our first serious (or otherwise, in my case) relationship. He proceeded to declare me to have 2 appendages - namely Hefty Lefty and Shitey Righty.

Does this answer your question?!

SplendidPendips · 24/06/2024 19:23

Yes, I went to the GP and had a referral to the breast clinic where I had a mammogram and an ultrasound. Both tests came back fine. This was years ago now and I have still not plucked up the courage to contemplate surgery. Although that's largely because I need to lose weight, so I am worried about having corrective surgery first, then losing weight and causing another imbalance! Problem is, it is taking a long time to lose much weight....
