Alternative to IKEA high sleeper kids bed?

My DS8 is in a short single bed at the moment, and he needs a new bed. He really wants a high sleeper but like a dark gaming style thing.

He has a small room, which is an off shape due to half a chimney breast in the corner. Really an IKEA bad would do the trick if we could have the desk sidewards and the wardrobe opening inwards under the bed. I'd then have space for a narrow but tall chest of drawers on the chimney breast which would otherwise be wasted space. The bed would take the full width of the room.

But although the IKEA one looks ok, I was looking to see if there were any others with a similar set up. Does anyone have a nice high sleeper for their kids which is not IKEA? Thanks

Ds has this one:

Kids Avenue Urban Grey PC - Gaming High Sleeper Loft Bed – Millie & Jones (millieandjones.co.uk)

Similar to your ds, he wanted a black huge gaming one. He has a small room and it would have left about 6" space down one side and so wasn't practical. This one he is really happy with. He hangs some of his clothes off the far end of the bed, but does have a built in (tiny) wardrobe which he stores all his soft toys in.

DS had a second-hand Stompa bed that seemed very good quality. They have different styles, including the set-up you're looking for. I'll give you fair warning though: changing the sheets on a mid-sleeper was a PITA and I imagine a high-sleeper would be the same or worse.

Both DC now have low IKEA beds with drawers. The slats are slightly too short so they pop out and under if I sit down on the bed a bit too forcefully I'm quite large. Otherwise all fine.

Stompa and Thuka are big European brands that have very modular solutions. You often see them sold as packages online but if you talk to a supplier they can buy exactly the bits you want at no additional cost. You can also take the legs off the high sleeper later if wanted etc. Not cheap, but solid and will take a full adult's weight for years. Thuka less expensive than Stompa. There's another big one but I forget the name.

Sorry, no recommendations for other beds but DS does have that Ikea bed set up as pictured. It was DD’s before his. It’s actually very sturdy and good quality.

I did buy a separate wardrobe in the same range and that was absolute rubbish compared to the bed. Very flimsy.
