Countryside weekend break recommendations please

Could anyone kindly recommend somewhere for a long weekend in the uk? We’re thinking more of a country break rather than city and hoping to take our dog (we don’t have kids). Would prefer a hotel to a lodge/air bnb for ease of restaurant/bar. Budget about £750 for 3 nights. Anyone been anywhere good lately?

Can you give us a rough idea of where you live and how far you would be willing to travel? e.g. within 3 hours drive of Manchester.

Rye, town countryside and Camber Sands. Very dog friendly, Mermaid Inn allows dogs by pre agreement Home - The Mermaid Inn

Edited to sort capitals out!

Home - The Mermaid Inn

The Mermaid Inn was rebuilt in 1420, with cellars dating to 1156. The Mermaid Inn provides accommodation in 31 rooms, a 2 AA Rosette Restaurant and a Bar.

Wow! Looks gorgeous! Never heard of Rye! Just googled it. If you are further up North then Beacon Hill Farm in Northumberland is a great place to stay. Self catering cottages and a spa close to lots of great beach and countryside walks.

Sorry I forgot to add in area - anything within 3 hours of the midlands, so rules out Cornwall/scotland/northumberland, but will definitely check out Rye!

Somewhere in the Cotswolds or Hay on Wye? Plenty of air bnb options, walks for the dogs, cosy pubs etc.

Hope in the Peak District is nice. We’ve stayed at the Old Hall Hotel there but I’m not sure if they take dogs.

I’m a big fan of the north Norfolk coast. We usually stay in an AirB&B in a village with a pub/restaurant - Burnham Thorpe is one of our faves. But plenty of hotels in the bigger towns like Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market. There’s some great walking, especially around the Holkham Estate and Holkham Beach.

Palé Hall near Llandrillo in wales - absolutely gorgeous and very dog friendly.

I also love Shropshire for a uk break. Stunning walks.
