How to get rid of rosacea?

Although I have always had sensitive skin I have never really suffered from anything like rosacea until I hit perimenopause.

I have no idea if it is rosacea but I wake up every morning with a rash-like mark on my face (similar to pic but with little red spots here and there also). It’s not particularly sore but I suppose it does have a sensitive sensation to it.

It’s no use trying to get in at the GP as our surgery as you literally have to be dying these days to be granted an appointment with an actual GP. So I need to tackle this with something off the shelf.

Are there any lotions or potions available (and not too expensive) which may help ease this. I am becoming quite self conscious over it.

I have tried so many different things but the only thing that worked for me was metronidazole cream (think it is called Rosex) unfortunately I think it is only available on prescription. Nothing OTC really worked for me. I suffered with mine worse in my 30's and sit hitting peri menopause it has got much better. I also use the Avene anti redness (antirougers) emulsion or cream whichever is available as a moisturiser and this definitely helped it when at its worst .

DH has had a lot of relief from Soolantra (Ivermectin) which you can get online from Superdrug.

I have had rosacea for many years and I have recently had a massive improvement, and it's almost gone thanks to my new routine.
The only thing which has worked is soolantra.
I have practically stopped moisturising too as apparently the latest findings are that rosacea is caused (or exacerbated?) by a parasite.
Rich moisturisers allow the parasite to grow.
The only moisturizer I occasionally use is by Sensibio, with anti-redness properties. I was told to try products for teenage sensitive acne-prone skin if I wanted to change from Sensibio.
I apply an oil-free sunscreen for sensitive skin whenever it's the slightest bit sunny (Eucerin).
The Soolantra is for night time. I had to gradually build up from a dot on each cheek for two weeks and then I started applying on most of my cheeks nose and chin.
I also had a few laser treatments for the red spots that won't go away.
I hope this helps!
