Cost for grass cutting, weeding and keeping borders tidy

So am I out of touch er have a small/medium garden mainly grass with little patio and we have been have just been quoted £110 a fortnight to cut grass and basically weed the borders this feels outlandishly expensive… is it or is this the going rate?

Time is a key factor here as normally we keep on top of it ourselves but we are both working a lot more than have been and thought a bit of help would be nice. Unless, you are really passionate about gardening (we arn’t) nobody wants to cut the grass or weed a border after pushing 60 hour work week.

The problem is solved however , as I have now received another 2 quotes both for around £25 per hour. One quote is from a trained gardener/horticulturist who advised it should take no more 1-2 hours a fortnight so we are all sorted!
