Less cringe way of saying intelligent

I'm doing 360 feedback for my boss. She's very clever and always identifies the key points immediately.

Feel a bit silly saying she's very intelligent in the feedback as it's supposed to be about behaviours rather than inate qualities, and I worry it sounds like I'm saying I'm the judge of who is intelligent (maybe overthinking a bit here). How can I say it in a less cringey way?

always identifies the key points immediately.

Why not just say that?

PTSDBarbiegirl · 07/03/2024 17:25

"I thought XXX decision demonstrated good judgement/insight/adept understanding of the needs of staff/modelled helpful problem solving acumen..."

anonymousrononymous · 07/03/2024 17:26

Maybe just say “…. you is well smart…” (Ali G voice)

What behaviours is she demonstrating that lead you to believe she is intelligent?

This - she might not necessarily be intelligent. What you’re describing is, as others have said, is astute and perspective.

They’re not synonymous.

Not saying she isn’t intelligent! She may well be. But you’re describing different qualities anyway - so just use those words.

Wise or knowledgeable are good ones. Wisdom for example has grown from time and experience and requires a willingness to receive it. What I'm trying to say is it's not all about IQ that you have innately. It's a skill you develop.

it's not from The Elephant's Child is it?

Geebray · 07/03/2024 19:42

OMG. Can some of you people not read?!

it's supposed to be about behaviours rather than inate qualities

So just say "X always identifies the key points immediately."

Job done.

She has a breadth and depth of knowledge that enables confident decision and making and insightful challenge. Through Example she inspires her team to do likewise.
