Evri put my parcel in the bin - which then got emptied!

Just discovered that Evri left a parcel in my bin on Monday night and my teenager very kindly put the bins out ready for Monday morning. The bin was full before the parcel went in there.
There was no delivery note through the door and I wasn't expecting the delivery till today.

The parcel was from Next and they did email me but I missed it (my mum just died so not exactly on the ball with admin)

It was a gift costing £60 - have I got a leg to stand on asking for a refund/replacement?

Last week I had an evri delivery and I told him that I was expecting a parcel the next day and could he leave it in the recycling bin, as I wasn't going to be home.

He said that they are not allowed to put parcels into any bins as the bins could get emptied. I said it would be ok as the bin wasn't going to be emptied for a week. He refused to use the bin.

You have my sympathy.

I'm currently trying to get a refund / replacement from an ebay seller after Evri dumped my parcel on a step in full view of a well trodden road in London and it then, unsurprisingly, went missing. In the photo Evri has taken as evidence of delivery, you can clearly see my secure, locked post box! 😖 To be fair to them, their delivery people in this area are usually better than that.

I had this recently too. I raised it with eBay who spent about three weeks telling me to check around my house and look at peoples cctv and ask family members and check with neighbours, but I did finally get my money back after repeatedly telling them I had.

Sorry for your loss 💐. Had exactly the same thing in our last house. Woman delivered in her own car, for a lot of companies. She put parcels in the bin(it was collection day, the next day,so wasn't lost,) ordered thick cotton throws Tesco, she put them behind the bin, got soaking wet. I complained to Tesco, she was really aggressive with me because she got told off. One delivery driver left an expensive mobile phone on the door step in full view.

Evri left a cardboard box full of cat litter in the middle of the garden in the pissing rain. The outer cardboard disintegrated and the litter was soaked through so the bag split and there was cat litter all over the garden 🥴 we have a new Evri courier now who is far more sensible.

Amazon once completely disregarded the large ‘dog may be in garden, please place parcels in garage and do not open the gate’ sign on the gate (at face level, right next to the handle so you can’t miss it!), dog legged it as he was terrified of the courier and ran straight into the neighbouring sheep field in his panic, I had to chase him as was petrified that he’d be shot! Luckily he was just standing by the sheep fence, shaking like a leaf so was easily grabbed and brought back home. Lesson learnt: we got a padlock for the inside of the gate as well as the outside after that!
