Where do 'those' mums shop?

I'm in a complete style rut since having children. But whenever I'm out with my toddler DC, I see amazingly well put together women.

Their clothes look effortlessly stylish, comfortable, and fuss free. I'm not brave enough to ask anyone in real life where they buy their clothes... so can anyone here point me in the right direction please?

Effortless style is a skill not a brand. You can be head to toe in The Row and still look unkempt if you don’t know how to balance colour, shape and volume. Clean shoes, well groomed hair and nails, natural makeup, no over accessorising will elevate any look.

Is there a particular look OP? Is it a smart causal look? Jeans and a jumper look? Or is it all of it 🤣

I tend to save clothing ideas of things I see and then have a look about for similar items. The one thing I did do (and this is a wanky term) is have a capsule wardrobe.

A really decent white tee, equally a black one. A couple of nice long sleeve ones too. Some jumpers for layering, different styles, and then nice comfy but can be dressed up or down black trousers, good pair of jeans and some neutral ones.

TikTok was my friend for finding what I liked and where I could get it! I watched videos of people a similar age who were into fashion and went from there ☺️

Definitely having a wardrobe of similar tones will help, this is what I’m trying to concentrate on currently.

Someone dressed in all black or similar colours will instantly look more put together than someone in a pink jumper, blue trainers etc.

A really good bag, scarf or hat, or sandals in warmer weather will also help elevate an outfit. Doesn’t necessarily need to be anything fancy or expensive, but again a neutral colour means you look put together rather than mix and match of whatever was clean that morning.

Have a look on Pinterest for capsule wardrobe and neutral wardrobe ideas. They may lack personality but it’ll be so much easier to pick out clothes in the morning and feel less scruffy. You could always add some personality with a bright lipstick or similar.

Clean, neat hair also helps.

Thanks all. I think good quality staples are the way forward. The women I've been admiring tend to wear simple tops or jumpers with jeans or soft looking trousers (not loungewear, they look sleek as well as comfortable).

Some are really similar to my own clothes that I pick up in H&M... just much better quality. We're in a very middling northern town so the chances of multiple women nipping to the soft play in The Row or similar is close to zero. I just don't know where they do shop.

If they look similar to H&M, maybe Arket or Other Stories? Both owned by H&M but better quality :)

I really like M&S at the mo too, some lovely linen trousers for summer about.
