Parents of teen boys - What is peak age for boys playing computer games online with friends?

Is there an age at which it becomes less popular and even a bit less cool for some? I know around 10 maybe I would say a lot of boys do. Up until maybe 15. But after that do some boys get into going to gym and meeting girlfriends etc. and it be less so .

my own kids are still in gaming stage but notice older friends kids maybe less so?

My OH is well up his fifties and apparently will be gaming until he dies!! DS19 prob cooled off a bit at about 17 and went out more but him and his mates go through phases when they are on there all the time and then it doesn't get switched on again for a while. I don't see DS ever going off gaming as he prides himself on how good he (allegedly) is but it isn't the obsession it used to be.

My DS is 23 and still does it.

I have friends who are late forties and do it.

Some will outgrow it, some never do. I am a gamer too though so don't see the issue. That's how they socialise now.

😂😂😂😂My dh is 50 and is a gamer. He plays online but doesn’t actually speak to any people on it.

ds is 23 and plays against his friends most nights, though does venture to the pub on a fri and sat evening with the same friends.

My ds was regularly playing online with his friends from y7-10, then he was concentrating on his GCSE's and it fizzled out a bit.
He's doing A levels now and spends more time at the gym, out with friends and talking to them on the phone. He plays games online no more than once a week at the moment.

I should add that I wouldn’t judge anybody gaming. I am well aware of the social aspect to it. My dc just dont do it all that much even though a lot of their friends do. I actually kind of wonder if they need to do it more.
