Low temperature after high fever

Hey, I’m looking for advice. My little girl (4) has been unwell for over 3 weeks now. The first two weeks she had a viral and very high temps over 39. Which we struggled to get down and were alternating calpol and nurofen. Now her temp has went the other way. And is very low, mostly at night when sleeping. Friday night it was 34.9. I woke her up worried gave her warm milk, and she went to 36. And the last two nights she’s been 35.5 at night and drenched in sweat. During the day, she feels cool to touch, but is happy enough and playing away. She’s wrapped up but does not get any warmer. Her day temp is not going over 36. I’m just unsure what to do, because we took her to out of hours on Friday night. And because she was 36 when we got there, we were just sent home. Im unsure if this is normal, this will be 4 days low temps. ( very low when asleep with crazy amount of sweating)
will it regulate and get back to normal? Or should I be taking her to hosp which will be the 4th time. In the last 3 weeks.
our thermometer works great. It’s the same as the paramedics. so I trust that , and also you just know when your child’s temp isn't right , her forehead is very cold, cheeks and torso, neck.
iv googled as much as I can, iv phoned 111 ,
I guess I’m looking for someone with similar stories that can tell me that it could possibly be normal and if things will get Back to normal range.
thank you so much x

I would seek medical advice, a low temperature can be as bad as a high temperature, if she is in a warm room, wrapped up but her temp is low and she's cold and clammy/sweaty she needs to see the doctor again. 111 will tell you to go back to the hosputal. I hope she feels better soon.

Is she still on any medication like calpol or ibuprofen for pain relief as that can lower a normal temp to below normal? A temp of 34.9 to 36 will need checking by a professional and you are absolutely right to be checking on it.

@Inmy40 thank you for replying. She has not had any medicine since Thursday.
we did take her when her temp was 34.9 to out of hours on Friday night and by the time we got there she was 36. And she was smiley and happy,
although cold and sweaty. So sent home and told she’s fine.
I think I will have to phone 111 for advice but because of her age, she will be allocated a time to be seen again, Rather than advice.
xx

Hi Pops34.
Sometimes it helps to look at more than just one feature? Is your daughter feeling well now, after the virus? Eating and drinking normally. Playing. Sleeping well.
If so, I would be inclined to put the thermometer away. They often give low temperatures. I could admit 6 patients and they might all have a temp below 36. However as they are otherwise clinically stable, I just document it.
I don't have a thermometer at home at all.I can feel if someone is hot, pallour, skin appearance, appetite, pulse, resps, energy, these are all taken in to account.
Obviously, i have years of nursing behind me, and i realise that makes a massive difference. Just maybe don't focus too much on the temp alone.
And do always seek medical advice if you feel you need it.
