What are your favourite and best kitchen gadgets?

Frankly I have no need for yet another thing for the kitchen but the excitement of my recently purchased universal knife block and oil separating scoop has worn off and I am feeling a bit shoppy

What do I want...?

My jar key is my happiest kitchen gadget. A small thing but a game changer in my life.

Red wine aerator/pourer (one of the ones that you stick into the neck of the bottle and it aerates the wine as you pour.)

By grater with handle do you mean a little barrel whirly one that is like old bus ticket machines or a box grater with a handle on top?

Oh! I did not know there were pasta making machines. Hello!!

I am not sure what I would cook sous vide but I will add it to my list of things to research!

I already have an air fryer and an electric pressure cooker and stuff, so as versatile as the Ninja is I don't think it would do anything different (although would likely liberate a lot of bench and cupboard space!)

Ninja little electric chopper. So handy and also functions as a decent blender when I can’t be arsed with the proper food processor.

Apple corer

I think I may already have one and am now wondering why I don't use it when making crumble.

I must have a sort through the utensil draw

Coffee bean grinder.

underthebun · 03/03/2024 22:19

Ooh yes, this! I have the cuisinart grinder, it comes with two little cups with blades, you can dedicate one to coffee and keep the other for nuts, breadcrumbs etc

I have a wand blendy stick for when I can't be bothered with big one, but if it chops and goes in the dishwasher it is going on the list!

Pasta maker is amazing - ingredients (which it weighs for you) to fresh pasta, in all shapes and sizes in 3 minutes!!! To be fair I prefer making 'proper' handmade but a bunion op made standing for an hour kneading and rolling untenable.

Sous vide is also a game changer - vac pack the toughest bit of cheap meat, stick it in at 60c for 24 hours and it comes out melting.

LaWench · 03/03/2024 22:23

Bean to cup coffee maker and ninja foodie max. Use them both every day.

citychick · 03/03/2024 22:32

Morphy Richards soup maker.
I make fresh soup about 3/4 times a week. Its brilliant.

Edited

I am so tempted by a pasta maker. We were just talking the other night about liking the idea fresh pasta but not the actual effort

I often make soup too but just use a pan and the wand blendy thing if it needs blending.

What are the advantages of a soup maker please?
