Can I have your party gift ideas for a turning 11 year old boy please? No idea what he likes or dislikes except football, not married to getting a football themed gift (no idea what team he supports) just wanted good ideas for 11 year olds in general. Ideally no more than £10. Thanks!

Also open to voucher so he can choose own gift. Rather than buying plastic tat!

How about a rubrix cube type thing? I gave one to a friends son and it was the best gift he had apparently!!

Ice cream shop voucher

£10 in a card is my go to once they hit juniors.

£10 cash or £10 Amazon voucher.

Cash in a card after age 8. Always goes down well

13 yo DS here. Agree, a tenner in a card from age 10 onwards was always a winner. And easier than trawling the shops!

idontlikealdi · 01/03/2024 15:51

Tenner in a card here too

unbelievablescenes · 01/03/2024 15:56

Voucher for vbucks if he has an Xbox, they love that!

MabelMaybe · 01/03/2024 15:57

@Meduse I came on to suggest a rubik's snake. There's a generic version in Home Bargains for about £4.

SuperSange · 01/03/2024 15:57

Yes to PP; once they're about 8 or so, it's money in a card because they're probably saving for something.

BoohooWoohoo · 01/03/2024 15:58

£10 cash will probably make the birthday boy very happy.

MixingPlaydough · 01/03/2024 16:01

Agree with the majority. No vouchers and no worrying just chuck the tenner in a card and the birthday boy will be delighted.

Baneofmyexistence · 01/03/2024 16:04

I have always put money in the card then bought some chocolate or sweets to go with it! I’ve no idea what the kids have or like at birthday parties so figure £10 and a bag of sweets in the safest option!

cornflower21 · 01/03/2024 16:06

Just give him the cash- simple.

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 01/03/2024 16:10

Another vote for cash. Then he can pool his gifts and buy something decent that he really wants. You can't get much that's good for under a tenner these days, but if five people give him a tenner in a card that's going to give him a much better overall gift.

thanks everyone! love the idea for an ice cream shop voucher, and tenner in a card as well. The latter is infinitely easier so probably going to do this. At least I know it won't be wasted on something he won't enjoy! Maybe a tenner and some japanese sweets would work well :)
