What's an accident waiting to happen in your house? (light hearted)

Friend brought me new slippers at Christmas, they are lovely and purple, but slippy on the stairs, I'm going to have 'a fall' one morning and be found with the cat trying to eat me as I haven't made it to his food bowl.

We have extra tall cupboards in new kitchen, suggested on here as a great thing, the upper cupboard door is at exact head smashing height for DH - I just miss it.

He leaves that door open when fetching down the dog food, regularly hear a bang and 'oh fuck' from the kitchen - one day he'll get a black eye from it.

(hate having to write light hearted....but nothing too gruesome please)

One of these days I'm going to trip over the dog. She has an impressive ability to lie/sit/stand in the most inconvenient place she can find.

Dogs coming in from garden, spreading mud everywhere causing slipperiness on kitchen floors. We have mats every where but they don’t want to walk on them.

The kitchen mixer tap has been dripping for nearly a month now. Either it will explode or I will.

Kitchen drawer handles all exactly at trouser pocket height, so I can walk past and boing myself backwards in a cartoon fashion, usually while carrying boiling pots of pasta to the sink etc etc

Mule style slippers and stairs.

Door that always sticks so will eventually either hit someone in the head or lock us in

The facking stair gate that is to keep the dogs in the kitchen. I trip over the bottom bar on it at least 3 times a day... I've got arthritis in the top bone across my left foot and guess what I always manage to knock with it. My language has gotten very choice these days..... Blush

The bloody bath panel which has been on a wonk since we moved in several years ago will be the death of my husband. It attacks my left little toe in the middle of the night almost every week, so every week I swear blue murder at it and at DH for not fixing it. The next time it tries to break my toe, I will just have to chop DH into pieces and put him in the wheelie bin.

(DISCLAIMER Yes I am aware I could fix it myself ...)

Black cat who likes to sit in dark corners, until I come along when he dashes out in front of me.

DancefloorAcrobatics · 01/03/2024 18:38

🤔 I think it's our dining chairs.

My little dog loves sitting on them - I swear one day she'll be crushed by some big fat bum.

Three cats who like to wind themselves around your ankles at the worst possible moment.

New kitchen floor which is slightly higher than the carpet in the adjacent room (guaranteed trip hazard).

coxesorangepippin · 01/03/2024 19:32

My head smashing into a cupboard that dh has left open

sawnotseen · 01/03/2024 19:35

Another saying cats (two 10mth old Maine coon sisters) constantly following me or right in front of me when I'm carrying things and can't see them. I adore them obv, but I've tripped over them so many times.

DS1 has a yo-yo. A wooden yo-yo. He has been told many times that the string must be around his finger and then held. It’s only by a miracle that he hasn’t broken a window with it yet.

Kitchen ceiling falling in. We had the bathroom done 10 years ago and it was badly done. We can use the overhead shower but not the hand held bit because it drips inside.

We keep forgetting to tell people so eventually it will soak up too much and collapse.
