Ideas for an afternoon in London

I'm meeting a friend in London next week. We shall rendezvous at around 11:30am and have an event booked at 18:30. We can dine after the event so don't necessarily need to allow time to eat during the afternoon, but a stop for coffee / cake would probably be nice.
Any ideas for something fun and a bit different to do for the afternoon? We both have 'done' a lot of the usual touristy things. We're in our forties and both fit and well for getting around etc.

Where are you meeting?

One of us arrives into Euston, the other at Victoria so we can be flexible.

If the weather is bad what about an afternoon tea on a sightseeing bus

Bridge's Bakery leaves from Victoria bus station

Where’s the event?

I love the Wellcome Collection at Euston, nice cafe, unusual stuff.

Wallace Collection - lovely cafe

Sir John Soames Museum - fascinating and you'll be sure to find a nice pub/cafe round there.

my go-to for free afternoons is an exhibition or gallery. Loads on at the moment

Have you done this before? I get quite travel sick so wasn't sure how much I'd fancy eating in a rickety old bus 😂. Or maybe it's smoother than I fear!

Dopamineland is great fun. I went with my sister, both in 30s and had the time of our lives.

Re-opened National Portrait Gallery. Not just portraits of monarchs from history and Victorian industrialists. Lovely portrait of Judi Dench as an example.

My daughters recently went here while in London. They found it very eccentric and hysterically funny. I don’t know London so don’t know if it’s near where you are going. There are videos on you tube about the arcade “games”

I am going to London in April and plan on visiting the graffiti tunnels.

If you like cake, Ottolenghi's near Sloane Square has a great deli.

I took my kids on a river bus to Greenwich which we lovers also Greenwich observatory is amazing.

I love the National portrait gallery too. Somerset House and the courthauld gallery are great. I love the view of London from primrose hill.

I love walking over the river to the south bank, the National theatre is great for just hanging out in the building.

There's too much!
