As career to 2 children who have autism and are non verbal, anyone advice of any websites or anything for careers discounts?

Also any advice on suitable days out for dear children with their conditions?

Hello op, I promise I’m not trying to nitpick, but I think you mean carer instead of career. I’m only mentioning it because if you ask mumsnet to edit the title you’ll get the attention of the right people who know the answer. I thought you meant career discount such as the blue light card for those who work in emergency services.

i hope there are discount schemes for carers and kids, and I hope you can find some great days out!

You can apply for the carer card which gets you discounts.

Discounts for carers is a good website.

Do your DC have a blue badge? That can count to get discount rates / free carer place.

Do your DC like the cinema? You can get a CEA card (think that's what it's called) to allow a free carers place it costs £6 a year.

Depending on age of DC have you looked into holiday respite clubs? Our local Sen charity does them for free but places get booked up very fast

If you have a local autism support group on Fb, I'd ask in there. I have a Carers Card which I obtained from Carers in Herts. It'll be different wherever you live. You don't pay for them by the way. I've heard of some you pay for.

Your local carers charity. It'd be Action for Carers in Surrey but depends where you're based.
What county are you in? Someone might be able to advise.

Hi OP, my son has autism too. Here are some things I've found:-

Merlin attractions (legoland, sealife, alton towers, chessington, cadbury word, bear grylls, blackpool tower, bpool circus). You need to get a nimbus access card which shows what accommodations the children require and you'll need evidence to prove it. They offer either one or two free carers depending on what is shown to be needed and a ride access pass to access rides easier.

ATG for theatre productions. They do relaxed shows which are great and also offer free carers tickets with nimbus card.

Arena's (think disney on ice, mega trucks, concerts etc) nimbus card again.

Paultons Park I think from memory last year changed over to nimbus too.

Cinema, you can get a cea card for free entry. They do autism screenings too. See dimensions website. Cea card cost £6.

Have a look on the websites of anywhere you fancy. Lots of places offer free carers with proof or queue bypass if needed.

Museums do autism friendly sessions too.

We have 2 disabled children. They both get DLA and we have an Access card for each of them, and a CEA card. Means we can go out as a family of 4 and only pay entry for 2 children - DH and I both get in free as carers. My dcs have enjoyed Legoland, sea life centres, CBeebies area at Alton Towers, Peppa Pig World.

I always check where we are planning to go and see if they offer any discount. I juts use the award letters as evidence. Never pay for a card you don't need.

I got a radar key through the council because of my son's needs — we use it loads when we're out and about as it gives access to locked accessible toilets. Also worth checking local councils or Carer ID schemes; ours does a card that gets us discounts at some local attractions and cinema tickets. A few museums gave us free carer entry when we showed it.
