I have an interview this afternoon and I'm really nervous.
I've double checked my teams works. Checked sound and video.
Got a shirt out to wear
Will put on some make up
Researched the company
Know job spec
Argh anything else i can do?
It's my first one in a few years and I'm shitting myself

Have some water with you for dry throat. Seems like you're well prepared. Good luck OP Smile

Make sure your background is clean and tidy, even if you've blurred it - the sights I've seen when interviewing on Teams!

Have you got questions prepared for them? Examples of work you've been involved in/lead on/delivered etc in case they ask competency based questions? Stick them on post-it notes behind the screen if necessary to help you remember them. Have a glass of water to hand in case your throat gets dry. Make sure the doorbell is turned off/kids and dog are elsewhere. Smile and speak to the screen, just as if they were people in the room. Have a back up device ready, just in case - a phone, ipad, another laptop. Go for a walk or do some gentle online tai chi beforehand to relax you and get your breathing regulated.

Good luck - I bet you'll be amazing!

Thanks. It's the informal/getting to know you chat and go over my cv.
I'll make sure animals are downstairs.
Background should be OK as I have my own office.

Yes to post it notes put where they can’t see them - bullet point facts on the employer, key bits of the person and job spec that you have experience in, questions for them at the end, some key words etc & try to use them all in the interview. Good luck!

You can have notes behind your screen. Put them high up. Try not to look like you're reading …

Try to talk to the camera (at the top of the laptop), not at the person talking. Then it looks like you're talking to them and not gazing down at your screen… also means it’s less obvious when looking up at your notes.

The last interview I had, I researched most common interview questions and wrote them out with answers and had it infront of me to refer to.

And remember, you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you!

My top tip for interview nerves (and works so much better if you are at home!) is to find a song you love and just before the interview sing along to it out loud, really belt it out and exaggerate your facial expressions as though you are on stage.
When you are nervous your throat and mouth muscles tighten - singing really relaxes those muscles and your face will feel more animated too.
That, and make sure you have some water ready.
Good luck!

Well it went okish. I don't know one way or the other. I hope I get through to the next stage. Fingers crossed
