Can any healthcare professionals advise?

NC'd for privacy but long time poster.

Early 50's. Post menopause but this issue has been going on for at least 10 years.

Every time I am unwell, I experience urinary incontinence.

I have a very mild cold with a blocked nose on one side. I'm walking around or driving, feeling the urine coming out. I get out of the car and the seat is wet.

Over Christmas, I was unwell for 3 weeks requiring antibiotics and steroids. Soaking through at least 10 large Tena pads a day. Some of it due to coughing but also leaking just sitting there.

The rest of the time, I get the odd minor leak from coughing or sneezing.

When my last child was born 10 years ago, I had a third degree tear. Have experienced minor bowel leakage everywhere since. Have had this looked at and GP said it was because I was overweight (which I am - BMI of 31).

Can anyone advise if there is anything that can be done about this. Is it simply because I'm overweight?

Thanks!

This sounds awful for you. It sounds like you need to be referred to a gynaecologist for assessment or you could try a Women's Health physiotherapist - here is a directory thepogp.co.uk/patients/physiotherapists/
I hope you get some help with this. Saying it is because of being overweight is not helpful by your GP in the slightest.

I would insist on a continence referral, gynae or urology,
