Aged about 8 our grandad was staying with us and I hid his glasses. Nobody thought it was me but he knew. He was literally almost blind for a week and even went poking with his walking stick down the loo. "I know it's her. I just know it, little bitch" Eventually they magically re-appeared on the sideboard. I never did own up and my mum never thought it could possibly be her blue eyed girl.

Not a bit weird.

I disagree, unless you have told everyone else who has locked people in cupboards, pushed them over in puddles and stolen their belongings etc, etc, etc the same.

There are lots of things on this thread which are spiteful and awful, but nobody is claiming they are just "spirited". Yours was an example of sheer spite.

Neighbour was in the war and elderly, he would often think he was back at war and bang on the walls with his walking stick, run it along the radiator. Used to drive me mad and would usually be where my bedroom was. One day I snapped and used my Grandad’s walking stick to bang back. A couple of days later he was found having fallen over and had been banging on the wall morse code for ‘help’. I felt dreadful after :(

So he had ptsd and you banged back. Poor man.

I'm now 58 and to this day I wonder if it was me that actually killed her! I do hope so .... !

Jesus Christ Shock

She was loud and brash, but her main 'sin' seems to have been that she was very overweight.

At least the crueler bullying posts here showed some remorse.

HannaHat · 27/02/2024 11:13

Some really bad parenting where they haven’t bothered to supervise their children or attempt to teach them any empathy 🤷🏼‍♀️ sad really.

Go away.

I used the term “spirited” because it wasn’t about me or my kids and they were “spirited” that was their character. Full of energy, enthusiasm and so much fun.

They were not spiteful at all. They were 6 years old ffs.

Stole my brothers pet mouse and kept it in my desk as my pey for a day or 2 while he cried, thinking it had escaped 🤣

Stole a friends schoolbag for some reason and took it home inside my bag. Thought it would be funny, everyone was searching the coat/bag area for ages 🤦‍♀️ I returned it a few days later. I must have been about 6

Oh it was you....

My satchel disappeared from my peg at junior school. Searches had been instigated, which had included staying behind 10 minutes to check the cloakroom when everyone had taken their coats and left. All to no avail.
Months later it suddenly turned up in the cloakroom. It was pretty distinctive so I recognised it straight away; and it had my name in it. I didnt say anything and just took it home again. Guess the thief had decided that enough time had passed so they could start using it safely.

You are very invested in this being a hilarious thing to do. I suspect it actually was your kid involved... So much fun, wishing someone a shit Christmas.
"Go away" is hardly a mature response, btw 🤣

I did upthread already say that regarding those hurting animals and children, they had/have psychopathic tendencies and I've just said it again.
The spirited child thread was different as less wicked but I would cuew a spirited child as lively, energetic and outspoken not one who deliberately writes, "Hope you have a shit Christmas" in a classmates card.

Bbq1 · 27/02/2024 10:36

The ones about hurting animals/children deliberately are really upsetting to read and I would honestly think any child hurting animals was a psychopath in the making. Not reading any more poists, they aren't just awful, most are hideous and half of the posts are gloating over their acts.

I agree. I think some posters are desperate to believe it's just your everyday childhood WaCkINeSs. It's disturbing that they can't see the difference between what they did and genuine normal behaviour of children who are curious/ lack impulse control/ don't fully understand consequences yet.

newyear2024 · 27/02/2024 11:25

At night time me and my friends used to take things from people's gardens and put it in their neighbours gardens down the street or round the corner etc, anything from plant pots to garden furniture and hanging baskets. No idea why we did it but we thought it was hilarious.

No not at all. It was not my child involved.

I just find it interesting and annoying how of all the posts on this thread, you have selected this one to be offended by.

In 20 years time, this kid will be probably post on a thread just like this and say WTF was I thinking. Which, at the time, was what all the parents in the playground were thinking. But now 10 years later, it is something we can laugh about it, whilst still thinking, what were they thinking.

Yeah you say it wasn't about you or your kids so it was funny... Not so much for the kids asking their mum, "Why has Jack said, Have a shit Christmas mum?" Unchecked "spirited" children can turn into vindictive and spiteful adults who childishly tell other adults to Go away.

Yes I was a frustrated child and one day I snapped as I was fed up of the random banging at any hour of the day or night. I felt awful after.

Me and some friends picked flowers out of gardens and put them in planting pots added some mud and sold them to the neighbours. We also got hold of some clear plastic bottles and filled them with shampoo/conditioner/bubble bath out of our parents bathrooms. We sold them to other kids at school.

To be fair, they might have rooted...?! 🤷‍♀️ #Notagardener 😅

I dared the annoying boy from next door to go into our creepy dark eaves attic cupboard. As soon as he went in I locked the door and went outside to play. Poor boy spent a good couple of hours in there, he was absolutely terrified.

Why? Had he been mean to you?

problembottom · 27/02/2024 11:37

Kids are evil twisted little fuckers, everyone knows this surely!

My friend and I got bored in the long balmy summer holidays and decided we should run away somewhere more fun. We decided to “burgle” my house before we went. We put as many valuables in bin bags as we could and headed to the woods with them.

Dindundundundeeer · 27/02/2024 11:38

Oh my god my life of crime when I was about 13/14. I can't even type it up now!

changedusernameforthis1 · 27/02/2024 11:40

When my Mum's friend was staying with us, I would take her baby's dummy out of his mouth which made him cry because I hated how my life had changed since they moved in.

Weirdly enough, once he'd grown up a bit we got along really well and if anyone even dared to look at him wrong I'd be his biggest defender.

UnctuousUnicorns · 27/02/2024 11:47

In primary school, aged about six. Teacher's pet wouldn't get off whatever play equipment I wanted to have a turn on, so I gave her a - tiny, I swear - push. She fell off and wailed like she'd broken a limb or something. 🙄 Of course, she hadn't, but of course Teacher made such a fuss of her, and I was the Bastard Child Of Hitler or something. This was the mid 70s, when I thought kids were meant to be tougher...🤷‍♀️

When I was around seven or eight, a boy (outside of school) threw a half brick at my head. I didn't see it coming, just felt it hit me, and then felt the blood streaming down my face. I was playing out on my own, as kids did back then. I ran back home, don't think I was crying, I've never really been a crier. No major damage, just a bruise and cut that my mum put a butter fly plaster on. We never found out who it was, or why he did it. 🤷‍♀️

Think this is my favourite ever thread.

I put my pet hamster on my record player/turntable once cos l thought it might enjoy a ride. 🙈🙈

We used to do this with my friend's kittens! 🙈

SunflowerSeeds123 · 27/02/2024 12:04

Growing up in the 80s in a boring village with little to do...we poked hedgehogs for fun.

Sorry!!

I am now a lover of all wildlife and hate myself for doing that. I don't so much money to animal charities now...

UnctuousUnicorns · 27/02/2024 12:06

In the 70s, my brother and I used to find it hilarious to play our parents' LPs at 78 speed on the record player, so that they sounded like Pinky and Perky. My audiophile, separates owning DH was perturbed when I told him, said that would wreck the stylus. Like we had a clue, or gave a shit about that back then. 😅
