Do spiders die if vacuumed up?

I have an increasing number of those spindly spiders appearing in my house. I've been happy to leave them alone until I had one crawling on my back 😱
I'm thinking I can vacuum them all and then put the bag out to the bin but I don't want them all crawling out whilst I'm doing it!
I don't want them dead but also don't want them on me.

Anyone tested this and know if the vacuuming kills them or not?

Seems like the spindley ones have laid out more on PR than the large fat ones, who seem up their with rats on their lack of expenditure.

When I got my house there were loads of the spindley ones, but I have whittled them down by killing them. If I used some sort of spider catcher I would spend my whole life chasing spiders round the house which is silly.

There are now hardly any, and still decreasing. Leave them alone to breed and guess what they will breed. They won't partake in some sort of deal or arrangement to stay away from you know matter how much you might hope this to be true.

I do think most spiders are cannibals. You only generally get one per corner at any one time. After you kill it another will take its place and if you don't it will kill others and eat them.

I emptied a full vacuum cleaner after hoovering up a big garden spider that was intruding in my flat, the horrible thing was still alive but looked a bit dazed and struggling to move, tangled up in the dust. So I think there's a good chance of killing it if vacuum cleaner is fairly full but there's a real risk of it surviving and escaping if you suck it into an empty container.

I get stricken with guilt if I accidentally kill one, I can't imagine deliberately hoovering one up, putting it outside or squashing it. I actually feel sad thinking how many spiders are killed in other people's homes.

So do I. There's times I forget to check the bath before turning the taps or the shower. It usually results in my fishing round the bath to try and save them, but I feel awful if I accidentally drown one.

Spray around the house with indorex flea spray and they'll die

What you’re doing is torturing them. Sucking them into a bag of dust where their mangled bodies die slowly. It’s cruel. Either squash them instantly or leave them alone.

Squashing them is just as horrid! Put your big girl pants on and catch them in a glass with a bit of card, then take them outside. What did they ever do to you?!

Thank goodness its not just me! I never intentionally kill anything. Except maybe moths as they can't be caught. I always try to catch spiders in a glass and take them outside.
