We are moving house and I am absolutely determined to be more organised and efficient generally!

My house is always clean and generally tidy however I often find it a mad rush and stress to get it that way. I work long hours. Husband and 2 DSC, who do their best but I have high standards!

Hit me with your best household organising tips that save you time!!

Good storage solutions and discipline: make sure everything has a place and put it back there every single time you’ve finished using it. It sounds so simple but I see so many people say that cleaning their house is overwhelming because they have to pick up and put / throw away so much before they can get to it , which I literally never have to do. Things like “hidden” storage (stair drawers, ottomans, under-sofa boxes etc) mean that it’s quick and easy to put things away in the room they’re used most so that you don’t just “never get around” to taking it back to the place it came from.

Declutter. It’s easier to organise less stuff.

This is certainly something I try to do. I am limited with storage space in the current house but new house has many more options and I intend to use them as cleverly as possible! I do say 'a place for everything and everything in its place' often! Hammering that home to 9 and 13 year olds is a challenge 😂
