Freezing cold arse!!

Bomblesofbimbledon · 24/02/2024 21:18

In this never ending miserable winter, I can't remember what my summer bum feels like. I'm sure previous winters weren't this bad.

But this winter, my god 😭 my arse is so cold all the time. I have a long coat which goes way past my cheeks but it makes no difference. I spend a lot of time outside in all weathers as I have a toddler who's idea of fun is wellies and puddles, and my arse is so cold sometimes I actually feel a pain in my hip. I'm 35 ffs and I feel so old in this weather. Toddler is 2 so this is really the first winter I've spent so much time outside.

Is this normal? Is it because my bum is so gargantuan at the moment? I need to lose weight badly- is this an extra incentive to do so?

I long for heated car seats and a bath. We have neither 😭 🍑 🥶 Husband loves any excuse to give me a good bum rubbing so that's something at least.

Help me and my permanently icy behind!

Some kind of thermal sub-trouserage arrangement?

I understand you completely. If I'm outside in winter my hands and feet can be toasty, but my arse absolutely freezing. Minus fucking degrees in the arse area.

I've tried thermals, leggings, thermal underwear, the lot and nothing works apart from a hot bath as soon as I get home.

Hot arse = happy Fanny ☺️

This is it exactly. My hands and feet get cold but I can sort that with the right gloves, shoes, socks.

My arse? Nope. It's even freezing at home without the fire on and a hot water bottle under me. Do you get aches and pains from it?

Thankfully we're getting a new bathroom put in this year and we'll have a bath, thank you Jesus. At the moment I have to stand with the rinser blasting me. One cheek at a time.

Fucking sick of winter now.

Could you sew some handwarmers into your pants - one for each cheek?

How big do they make them? I'd need ones for Andre the Giant's hands

M&S do some wonderful velvet lined/fleece lined tights. I think they do them in footless tights too. They are amazingly warm and I love them.

Now it's not too bad but in December/January cold snap I was wearing ski base layer underneath my jeans or Uniqlo "heat tech" range. Also M&S fleece lined jeans (got about 2 years ago) are godsend.
Edit: if you've got some money to spend look into Columbia (brand) Omni-heat range. It is a base layer for hiking/trekking/skiing with tiny reflective foil-like dots in the middle to reflect the heat of your body back to you.

I'm feeling worse now than November/December. West coast of Scotland and I think the endless cold and rain is really getting to me now. I need some warmth.

I'm loathe to spend money at the moment but I'm going to have to invest in some decent gear for future winters.

Thermal tights or leggings are the answer. No need for expensive brands - my motorcycle ones are mountain warehouse but I also have primark thermal tights. I have thermal lined boots (£18 in trespass sale) and thick hiking socks as well

Caswallonthefox · 24/02/2024 23:02

I wear my shorts (underwear) over the top if my normal undies, then wear joggers or leggings.
Apparently it's better to wear lots of layers.

I might need to do something like this. Thermal underpants over normal pants. It's just the cheek region so full thermal tights/leggings would cook me.

Adding some hideous thermal underpants to my shopping basket now 😭

Why not try a couple of heat pads stuck to the outside of your pants, under your trousers or leggings? You can get the ones meant for back pain, which are bigger. One on each cheek should do the trick. I usually buy them in the pound shop.

That's why mine are shorts and to be honest, who's going to see them? And if you have a partner their not going to be interested in your clothes are they?😁
