Would you report this?

Just watched a family I half know arrive at school. Two adults and four children (two school age, one toddler, one baby) got out of a 3 door car 100% not big enough to fit them all in. One looked to have climbed out of the front passenger seat with the adult, so must have been on adults knee or in the footwell.

Someone tell me to MYOB, or would anything come of a report? I can’t believe people would still do something like that knowing how unsafe it could be.

Honestly, no, I wouldn’t.

Id keep a look out for them and if i saw it again a few times then yes id make an anonymous call to the police with details so they can keep a lookout for them. If there was an accident those poor children

I would, but then I’ve seen first hand what can happen when people choose to travel in an unsafe manner (without seatbelts or drink driving etc).

101 must be fed up with me, but honestly I don’t care - if it stops someone from being seriously injured it’s worth it.
Best to date was following a drunk driver home and giving police my location on the move - they managed to set up a road block and the woman was so drunk she couldn’t get out the car.

OP
Report the clowns. The childrens safety is at big risk. Call 101 and give reg d details etc - the number of idiots we have seen not using child seats and or children's jumping around in the car - I can often spot that type of driver from a mile

Report them as the clow aka adult has no duty of care

I’d report to the Safeguarding Lead at school - but that’s probably because I was one for over 20 years. If the family were doing this at school, when they were likely to be seen and recognised then they either don’t care or don’t understand the risks.

Speaking as someone who nearly went through a car windscreen as a child definetly report...

YourThighness · 23/02/2024 09:59

Speaking from experience, the police will do nothing if you report it.
I once reported my neighbour for holding her newborn in her arms in the front seat, husband was driving and toddler in the back without a seat.
Seen it happen multiple times and had photo evidence.
The police came out and couldn't care less. Spouting nonsense about them possibly having a medical condition that prevents the use of car seats, wtf!
I was basically told to mind my own and stop wasting their time.
