Is this what a prolapse feels like?

I had a baby 17 months ago via c-section, and I’ve had absolutely no problems with my pelvic floor so far. I’ve been on a bouncy castle, I do 2 weight sessions and a cardio session at the gym a week all fine.

Suddenly I’ve developed a weird feeling for the last three days, almost like I’ve put a tampon in but not pushed it up high enough. So it feels like something is right in the entrance of my vagina, it’s more uncomfortable than painful but is slightly ‘pinchy’ at times. I also had one episode of very slight urinary incontinence at the gym.

Has anyone had similar from a prolapse?

Not to put too finer point on it but have you had a rummage up there to see how things feel? I'd have thought it would be pretty obvious if a prolapse has 'landed'

Yeah that sounds like a prolapse of some kind.

If you can feel anything bulging (could be entirely internal, not necessarily bulging out at all), or feeling "heavy", then there's a good change you have some degree of prolapse.

Yes it sounds like it, could be rectocele or cystocele you can have them mildly and manage ok with the right information and pelvic floor physio or they can be more severe, there is a very good support group if your on Facebook, FPOPS UK loads of UK ladies going through similar highly recommend joining. I have three moderate types, rectocele cystocele and uterine, I manage with careful diet and lifestyle at the moment. They are very common and needs to be more awareness

I had a rectal prolapse due to a difficult pregnancy and various medical conditions. It felt like it was coming from the front to start with. I felt like an egg bound chicken with a pulling sensation, and it wasn't clear where the bleeding etc stemmed from for a while. The prolapse would go back up when I was sat down, for instance. I ended up having surgery as it developed further and was then apparent where the trouble was. You should ask a GP for a scan to figure out what is going on. Surgery was life changing for me, but they only figured out what was wrong when they had me in the operating theatre.

I’m thinking it’s mostly likely a rectocele because it improved after opening my bowels, so presumably that’s where the pressure was coming from.

I spoke to my personal trainer who said it’s probably appeared suddenly because I took up running last week which may have exacerbated a weakness I wasn’t aware of.
