Could the Covid jab have caused miscarriages?

I come across a video on Facebook of an NHS doctor talking about different illnesses, I didn't watch it and just looked at the comment and I come across this comment. Now, I'm 28 (nearly) and suffered 4 miscarriages in the last 14 months at 5 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks & 7 weeks. I had the first jab when it was offered maybe 2020? Then had another 2 after that but haven't had one since, last time was probably 2021. I have asked midwives/GP if the jabs could be a reason (I had pfizer) but they said there is no real evidence. In the last 4 years everyone who I know that's had a baby 9/10 conceived with no actual problems. I am waiting on my referral from the hospital which should be in the next few months, but will be absolutely devastated if it's something to do with these bloody vaccines as at the time a lot of us thought it was the right thing to do. Or I'm just very very unlucky. DH is unjabbed.

Just to add, my cycles are very regular (26/28 days) I ovulate day 12 every month (I track this) and seem to fall pregnant easy. Just can't keep hold of them. Obviously I know cos I haven't had my tests yet it could be number of things , but this comment got me thinking. What does everyone think?

Could the Covid jab have caused miscarriages?

Facebook evidence, seems legit.

I'm really sorry for your losses. I don't believe for a second that the vaccine had anything to do with them. In what way do you think it acted in your body that could have led to subsequent miscarriages? There are many causes of miscarriage, for me (I had 4 too) it was raised natural killer cells. But could be something like clotting issues, or the old chromosomal abnormalities. I hope you get the answers you need, and don't give up. And I am very sorry for your losses.

It's a random talking bollocks on the Internet or attention that's upsetting you.

I'm incredibly anti vax having been injured by a flu vaccine in 2003 but even I would say it's much more likely to be another cause like autoimmunity, not uncommon really.

Perhaps look into Dr Shehata for recurrent miscarriages who is or was based in Wimbledon.

There's often threads on here regarding his work.

Good luck.

I had all the Covid jabs and boosters including one in the first trimester of my pregnancy. My son is fine. I’m very sorry for your losses but I really don’t think this is the reason. There often isn’t a reason for these things. Unfortunately I think you were just unlucky.

rubyredknowsitall · 20/02/2024 23:48

No relation, otherwise we'd be seeing a mass increase in miscarriages on an international level

I'd step back from Facebook for a bit x

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/02/2024 23:49

No, the COVID vaccination didn't cause your miscarriages, and there is no evidence of a link between the vaccine and miscarriage.

Unfortunately there is a massive amount of misinformation on the internet. Some of it is posted by people who strongly believe there really is a link, and repeat any rumour that supports this, while ignoring all evidence that contradicts their belief. Some of it is posted by people who just enjoy manipulating the gullible and are happy to make up "evidence" and pretend to be doctors or scientists or in this case a midwife to lend authority to their bullshit.

I'm sorry for your losses Flowers

I come across a video on Facebook

I'd say, you never know and that it's impossible to rule out. No one with a medical background or otherwise can fully and accurately say what effect the vaccines had on your body. No one. Just because it hasn't led to a huge spike in miscarriages, doesn't mean it's not had a part to play in them for a small number of people.

nocoolnamesleft · 21/02/2024 00:02

I am very sorry for your losses. I have seen quite a lot of evidence of Covid infection causing miscarriages, stillbirths, and preterm deliveries. I haven't seen any convincing evidence linking the jab to these sad events.

toomanyleggings · 21/02/2024 00:08

I Think it’s unlikely. I had Covid in early pregnancy and she’s asleep next door currently. I’m very prone to miscarriages and had about 6 before dd1 and another one before dd2. Have you tried aspirin? That was the only difference in my successful pregnancies.

NoMoreFalafelsForYou · 21/02/2024 00:17

Facebook evidence, seems legit

Yeah, this.
So sorry for your losses but some random gobshite on FB isn't a reliable source of anything x

JingsMahBucket · 21/02/2024 03:04

You didn’t even watch the video but trusted a nut job in the comments instead? Okay then.

WandaWonder · 21/02/2024 03:09

So the world doesnt know but facebook does?

No it does not cause it, seriously
