Is it ever possible to lose a c-section overhang??

I've had three sections, the last one 15 months ago and due to weight gain I have a significant overhang. I'm desperate to change my body and get rid of it but I don't know if that's even possible? I'm 42.

It gets less as you lose weight ime. But it won't go back I don't think due to the scar. I've had 2 c sections and hate mine too. I'm saving for a tuck!

I’m 47 and had 2 c sections and don’t have an overhang so yes it’s possible. My body doesn’t really look any different to how it did pre pregnancy to be honest, I also don’t have any stretch marks so it could be that I have very elasticated skin 🤷‍♀️

I lost weight and if anything, my over hang got worse. My last one was an emergency at 28 weeks and as my midwife helpfully said when I went for my 6 week check "oh they butchered you didn't they?"

It was done far too tight. I was promised that due to that they would repair it after a year. Except when I went back and enquired I was told I was deluded because had I not heard about the crisis in the NHS? This was 2009.

I hate how my body looks. Can't afford surgery. I use spanx.

I think it depends, genes, amount of skin and quality of the skin. Imo if the skin is very saggy, stretch marked, puckered /there’s a lot of scar tissue then it can’t just shrink back and the area can’t be perfectly flat again.

I did a lot of massage, wore a band during pregnancy and a belt afterwards whilst I exercised. No idea if this is recommended, it did seem to push the fat on to my hips and butt- which was preferable over my tum as I’ve never had a flat tummy. Maybe this would’ve happened anyway I don’t know! I used the scar patches too that you get from Boots.
I was 40 when I had DD. I didn’t put on an awful lot of weight, about a stone (more after!).

I would definitely massage as much as you can, improve the skin quality. Focus on tummy exercises to firm the area and drink lots of water. Invest in some good, supportive underwear and swimming costumes to prevent jiggling. Mine looks flat in swimwear and underwear. But the scar itself is bumpy, it’s not the lovely flat line you see on some ladies! But the surrounding skin is back to normal and no stretch marks.

I think if you've got the overhang, due to how you've been stitched/healed you're stuck with it. Weight loss decreases it but it doesn't ever really go.

Only tummy tucks get rid. I just use spanx type underwear to do the job

I’ve had two c-sections but I never had an overhang. But I never had stretch marks either.

I think it’s just different for everybody in how their body goes back after pregnancy. or maybe it’s down to body type? I’m very short and of average build. My DH is very slim and not overly tall either. So our children aren’t massive (first borns placenta failed so was born very small anyway) so my bumps weren’t huge. Maybe that’s why I never had stretch marks and why I didn’t have an overhang, because there wasn’t enough excess skin to create one? My bump was also completely gone as soon as my children were born too. I wore my maternity leggings home and they were drooping down where they no longer had a bump to cling to. It was a bizarre feeling.

but also my feet grew half a size in each pregnancy so now I’m one size bigger than I was before children.

Mine's almost stitched to my back it's so tight, yes an overhang and it doesn't matter what my weight is doing. With regard to being Bikini Ready, do you have a bikini? Then contrary to the cover of Closer Magazine, you're all good.
