Which website builder is best for my needs?

I want to build a simple website for a friend who runs a business, there is no selling needed on the website, it will just need a few pages describing the service offered and options, a gallery of photos, a page for testimonials and a contact page. It also needs to link to a separate website for another project of theirs (and vice versa). It needs to be searchable and findable on google.
I've not built a website before but have been looking at website builders such as Wix, Squarespace and Wordpress.
I would be happy to do the routine updates and maintenance; which website builder would you recommend please?

Honestly? I would spend a few minutes learning some basic html, and bootstrap. Bootstrap is a framework you can adapt to your needs and is a far better investment of your time.

With youtube, or a basic course on something like skill share / udemy etc, you'll be up and running very rapidly (days, not weeks).

There is a lot of demand for this sort of thing, so it could be a good income generator.

I wouldn't do as PP advised at all!!

They're all equally good but some people do find WordPress a little more challenging.

I work with small businesses helping them with their websites.

Maybe check out support available as guaranteed you'll get stuck on a few things.

Wix is your friend here. Much easier than Wordpress for a novice.

As a former FE developer, I'd say Squarespace is probably the best option for non-technical people.

WordPress has really good functionality, but takes a bit more in terms of getting up to speed and can be expensive when you start factoring in plug-ins, so if you're looking for something relatively basic, then yeah, I'd go for Squarespace.

I didn't get on with any of the builder frameworks, hence learning html. For me, it was way faster.

Thanks everyone. Are they all ok in terms of SEO?

Wix or squarespace are much much easier.

What do you know about keywords and keyword research?

SEO is related to what you create, not the tool you use to create it, so yes any will be fine.
