Is it rude to go to same hairdresser and change stylist?

I started going to a new hairdresser after I moved that was recommended by lots of neigbours. As background I have very stubborn greys however old place managed fine ( too far to travel though now). I’ve had same girl do my hair for 7 months and I’m that time she’s either taken 2 hours to do my roots and they haven’t covered and they’ve had to do a complimentary colour x 2. She also cut my hair for the first time and that looks pretty shit too! I don’t have time or money for this kind of service however her manager seems to know what she’s doing so want to switch over … thinking it might be a bit awkward or rude but I’ve given her a chance! More than one! What would you do?

7 months? You can't have been to her many times. It's fine.

I mean...they're going to take your money either way, so who cares which hairdresser in a salon you use?

I went 7 times as my root regrowth is quick but yeah I prob shouldn’t worry so much!

If they've already had to give you two free treatments to correct her mistakes, I'm surprised they haven't tried to offer you a different stylist!
Definitely give someone else a go.

@Seeline also my skin peeled off my scalp too and you are right! I will use her manager who is aware of all the problems she’s had with my roots. Hair cut was terrible too 😭

It's your hair and your money, so don't hesitate to make a change if you're not happy with the results you're getting.

You could either speak up and let them know what you're looking for in terms of style and service and ask them to correct it. So if you'd rather go to someone else, a fresh start with a new stylist might be just what you need to do. Just remember, it's nothing personal – it's just business. I've worked in a salon, the current worries much more about switching stylists than the stylist cares.

Seems like you've been fair and given her a go. It isn't easy being a hair stylist just as with any customer facing role but equally you're not there to be her guinea-pig.

Or not so.

I did this, the girl who cut my hair ended up leaving it lopsided, the one time I had the manager do it she did a really good cut, so when I ring I just specifically ask for an appointment with Manager Name, don't care what they think, its my hair and I am not paying to walk round with a crap cut
