Allergic to competive mum who puts my dd age 12 down.

My 12 year old is friends with a girl from school & it turns out the girls mum is very competitive with my dd & has made slight digs at my dd to me which I don't like. She is constantly trying to find out what grades my dd got & what she's up to outside school. Have any mumsnetters experienced similar & how did you deal? I am biting my tongue at the moment, not giving any info about dd & trying to give her a wide berth which is very hard as we lift share for extracurriculars.
I just feel she constantly wants her child to have a leg up on my dd which is insane. (her dd is absolutely lovely btw)

Just answer “why do you ask?” to any question which is unduly nosy or competitive.

I’m fine answering questions about what kind of thing my 14 year old is reading, what’s his favourite subject, what his GCSE choices might be but anything relating to how he’s doing at school is his private information which he can choose to share or not share with his classmates and not something I would ever tell another parent about!

When I was at secondary a friend's mum was constantly asking me about my grades in order to berate her daughter (my friend) about why she hadn't done as well as me. Including once at her birthday party.... Although aimed at my friend not me it was really awful and I was totally not equipped to deal with it at that age. Luckily mine are at a primary school which either has pretty chilled parents or I don't happen to gravitate to the competitive ones!

Does it matter? Smile and wave.

Please don’t joke about allergies - there’s nothing funny about them.

@Snowjive2 I'm not joking!
