To be frustrated they won’t go to the police?

Min details as still an active investigation.

Witnessed a violent crime this week. A group of males fought another man who had a weapon.

But no one but me has given a statement.

Is this just how it is now? A combination of being used to witnessing more antisocial and violent crime that it’s not even shocking anymore, and a general distrust for the police or that any justice will be served? I get that. I do. But I’ve lost nothing but ten minutes of my time to at least try.

just so frustrating that nothing is going to happen, and violent men will continue to walk about because no one wants to try and do anything about it….

Who did you want to go to the police?

How do you know no other statements were made?

I had this twice. I was the only witness who came forward in both cases and one of them got all the way to Court before the defendant pled guilty.

In my case it was that I was the boring, white, middle-class person who didn't have terrible interactions with other the police or the Courts and I was somewhat insulated from the consequences. The other people either weren't, or didn't feel they were.

Could be rival drug gangs or anything. Police have the option to use this in other ways such as Criminal Behaviour Orders.

Don't worry, it doesn't just go away the police have more than one way to skin a cat...

I understand that. I don’t have a good history with police interactions either having been a victim of assault myself.

i know there are valid reasons people avoid interacting with them.
