The child reported her 13 years later when she was 16. Lets hope more girls come forward now, and more colluders are sent to prison. Anybody who has ever been involved in any action supporting FGM needs to be quaking in their boots - it does not matter how long ago, they can be charged and convicted decades later and sent to prison.

I have read her autobiography. It's shocking.

Well since 1985 when FGM was made illegal this is only the second prosecution, so I honestly wouldn't hold your breath

No, sorry, that doesn’t wash. As an abused child, the last thing I would do is abuse a child.

It's appalling that so few people have been convicted of this since 1985.
