Does anyone else feel guilty about retiring early?

I have retired at 59. Hubby is 58 and is still at work (intends to work until age 70). DH was happy for me to retire as he knew I wasn't enjoying my job. DH enjoys his job, so happy to carry on working.
I can't help feeling guilty while DH is still working like a trojan and I am floating about doing lunches and hobbies. I also feel guilty about letting down my former team, who were very short staffed.

I have started two days a week in a volunteer role, which does feel like working in one way.

Can anyone else relate to this sense of guilt for retiring early or is it just me?

That feeling doesn't last for long 😁 enjoy yourself, life can be very short, happy retirement.

No, & I retired much younger than you.

I feel grateful, relaxed and contented but not guilty.

Don't feel guilty. I would retire earlier than state pension age if I find I can save enough. Probably not going to happen but still going to try. Enjoy it and as you are volunteering you are giving something back which without an army of mostly retired people society wouldn't otherwise benefit from.

I retired at 50, but do a pin money job and will die early so I'm having my retirement while I can.

That must be hard to deal with, if you are living with a life limiting condition. I do not understand why anybody would be feeling guilty, if they are able to retire early. Nobody knows how their life will pan out, or if they will even reach retirement age, so I have no time for that sort of talk. It is up to people if they wish to carry on working, when there is no financial need, I suppose.
