Do you ever tumble dry stuff you shouldn't?

I forgot to wash DD's sports kit Blush It's in the machine now and she needs it at 6. Only half will line dry in that time.

Would it survive an "outer wear" or a "warm air" cycle? Does "cold air" dry?

I've never tumbled something that says not to before.. is it likely to get ruined?

I'd stick it on the radiator instead.

Rivendeluge · 14/02/2024 08:25

I don't have any radiators!

Following!
I never do, but I noticed my dd (14) taking her sport kit out of the dryer the other day as she’d realised it was still damp an hour before she needed it. It seemed to have worked fine but I don’t know what program she used.

It depends what it is?

Sports kit could be anything but tbh I can't think of much that wouldn't survive a cool dry (if it's thin like football kit material) or a normal dry if it's t shirt shorts etc

Yes, carefully, on cool, and take out at the “iron dry” stage to finish off naturally.

The thin football type shirt and shorts will probably be dry by then. The shirt has her name printed on it so I'm a bit wary it might be damaged somehow.

The tracksuit doesn't have anything printed and is a polyester with plastic zips. Will try on a cool dry.

Yeah I do all the time. Will probably shorten the life expectancy of the item but needs must!
I don't find cold air works unless it's something that would otherwise melt and it has a long time, but that could be my machine
