What London activities/shows/restaurants have your teens loved?

We have an unexpected long weekend in London in April and want to make the most of it.

We have DD15 and 14 and DS12. It’ll be DH and me so we can split up if people prefer different activities. We know London well so would love to try something different. DH/S both love fantasy and sci fi. We all enjoy music and musicals. We love trying different food. We are all open to trying something completely new too.

What activities/ places have been a huge hit with your teens?

Mine loved Back to the Future, as did the school group teens around the place.
There's Stranger Thjngs the musical which seems a hot ticket at the moment but not sure whether that's suitable as I'm not familiar with the tv show.

Ooh. I was actually looking at Back to the Future tickets earlier today. Good to know yours’ enjoyed that.

I saw a fun TikTok recently £20 in Borough Market, the maker went round tasting different things with a budget of £20, the food looked great.

Dear England if still playing
The Play That Goes Wrong ( rather slapstick)
Guys and Dolls is great too

Watching Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Watching Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Browsing at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore (179 Shaftesbury Ave, London WC2H 8JR)

Eating at small ramen places, Japanese matcha cafes and cloud pancake cafes; the kind where they don’t take reservations

Edited to say that they will enjoy it most of course if they’ve watched and enjoyed Stranger Things on TV and are familiar with Harry Potter (maybe rewatch/re-read the Goblet of Fire)

Mine (14, 12 and 9) all loved Guys and Dolls. As did I (DH refused to come as he hates musicals so we met him for dinner afterwards).

We are off to the Cute exhibition at Somerset House this week - well, I am with the DDs. DS turned his nose up. Will report back, but I have heard good things!

Stranger Things : The first shadow (not a musical) is great if your kids loved the tv series.

If you do love musicals I've heard great things about Operation Mincemeat (got tickets but not seen it yet).

We saw Back to the future on Saturday, my 15 year old loved it! Then we had dinner at the Cork & Bottle In Leicester Square, ds tried snails for the first time and wolfed them down!

Harry Potter walking tour of various locations, Mithraeum museum - the VR is good. Witness for the Prosecution (it takes place in an actual court). The Mercato foodhalls are good - large interesting buildings with various street foods to choose from. The Gallery at Fortnum and Mason for ice cream.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane is fantastic not a musical but an adaptation of a Neil Gaiman book my teen DD loved when it was on tour locally and Charlie Brooks plays an amazing 'baddy', it does briefly, as the catalyst for the story touch on suicide through CO poisoning but It is exciting and funny for the most part, I think it would best for as scifi fantasy thriller It also has some fabulous 'War Horseesque' puppetry which is very impressive. It's unlikely to have a young audience so your teens may feel it's more of a grown up treat whereas there are often lots of small children at musicals.
