I don't know how to use ...

Our air fryer. It's a Ninja. The whipping big monster foodi one. I don't know how it works. I've tried to make rice in it twice using the pressure cooker function. It was ok. But not quite right.
I have no idea how to use any of the other functions. In particular I just want to air fry I guess. Just cook stuff. I can't figure it out. Can anyone give me really basic instructions?

How do you know how long to put things in for etc

I have one and rice is probably one of the things I do most in it. I use 1 cup of rice with one and a half cups of water and pressure cook it on high for 2 minutes for white rice, 18 minutes for wholegrain. Have you tried some of the recipes in the book that comes with it? It’s the best place to start and then once you get confident with it you’ll be a bit braver with other recipes.

I love ours - we call her Ninjella.

It's like it has done force field around it with Jedi mind power's 'cook the old way....forget I'm here....'. My dh and I can't quite bring ourselves to figure it out

Related question, I suppose… Why are air fryers so popular? Is it much cheaper than the oven? I can’t figure out how it’s more convenient? DH bought one, it’s only been used once!

What kind of things are you wanting to cook, you mentioned the air fryer option? Are you heating things or cooking from scratch? Also, is it the one with the probe?

Also, I imagine you have to get a good one (Ninja sounds impressive!) rather than a £50 quid LIDL aisle of doom job.

Think of it as a mini oven. Anything you'd use the oven for do in the AF. Just knock a few mins off the cooking time. I do salmon fillets in foil on 180 bake for about 18 mins, they are really nice. Plus the usual nuggets etc.

YouTube. There's loads of videos and tutorials, I was frightened of mine when I first got it but I love it now.

We use ours for the following:

Bacon, sausages, chips from the freezer, and chopped potatoes, chicken breast with seasoning, chicken for wraps, steaks etc literally anything you'd normally turn the oven on for.

We got 2-3 hello fresh recipes a week and most of the meat can be cooked in it.

I have 2 teens and they use it daily, mostly for the chicken as above. I find it's so simple easy to pop the trays in the dishwasher, less mess no spitting from any frying.

I've tried a few recipes online bags with egg in thr middle and a few other bits.

But I'd do salmon in the oven for about 16-18 mins so what am I gaining? Is there no heat up time?

Do the inner basket can be washed. What about the inside of the lid, the hinges etc.

Not sure if you have the same as ours we have the ninja with 2 draws - the whole draw goes in the dishwasher. Handle, based inners etc.

Salmon steaks for us on high take about 4 minutes.

We've done a small roast chicken and the roasties in it too.
