Should I speak to GP about duration of bleeding? TW

I’ve sadly lost a pregnancy this week. Spotting started Wednesday, began heavily bleeding & extremely painful cramps Thursday afternoon until yesterday (Saturday) evening.

Overnight and this morning it’s gone back to a typical period and cramps have gone.

I was only very early, somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks. Should I be worried that I was only bleeding heavily for 48 hours or does that sound about right? It was about 10 days after I would have expected my period.

The EPU didn’t seem to know and just kept saying mc bleeding usually lasts for two weeks.

I’m hopeful I’ve had the worst of it as my tests have been fading for days and are very nearly negative now. Don’t know if it’s worth a call to GP or if this is normal. Thank you and sorry for the not so nice post.

I'm really sorry to hear you are going through this there's nothing worse. Personally I think it's different for everyone and I wouldn't contact the GP for this. When I miscarried at 6 weeks, it was like a normal period for me throughout and I wasn't in alot of cramping pain for long however I've miscarried later before and it was heavier and more painful. Hope you're doing as OK as you can be in the situation.

So sorry, been there a fair few times myslef. I'd say give it a few days, these losses take time to settle, if you start bleeding more heavily or have any temperature or more symptoms of day call someone professional. Good luck and all crossed when you try again
